Important things to know about your trip to Tasmania:
- you will need an ETA (Electronic Travel Authority) or a tourist visa. Your travel agent should make these arrangements for you, or you can easily apply online. - you will lose a day on your way to Australia or New Zealand...but you will get it back on the way home, arriving back in the US prior to your Australian departure time! e.g. you leave LA on Dec 26 and arrive in Australia on Dec 28; departing Australia on Jan 2, you arrive back on Jan 2. - it will be summer in the southern hemisphere! Expect long warm days, low humidity and cool nights: don't forget to bring a jacket.
